About Chic & Gitta
My love for pearls began when I was very young.
I still remember the day my “pearl necklace” broke at school. It was probably just a childhood piece, but I was heartbroken and somehow, that memory stayed with me. Years later, when I got married, a close cousin gifted me my first real pearl necklace. It wasn’t about how valuable it was, it was about how much I loved it.
Like many girls, I loved jewelry, but I often couldn’t find pieces that felt like “me”. So I started making my own. Everything changed when I first discovered baroque pearls. I was deeply moved by their organic shapes and natural individuality. From that moment, I began seriously studying pearls. Jewelry making became a quiet, focused space for me, something I could fully immerse myself in. That was how Chic & Gitta was born.
The name comes from my English name, Bargitta, a small world of my own, built around pearls, design, and handmade details. With my background in fashion and design, I continued studying pearl science and jewelry making, and later earned my GIA Pearl Grading certification.
Today, every pearl used in Chic & Gitta is carefully hand selected, and made in small batches in Ontario, Canada.
None of this would be possible without the support of my family, and the encouragement from customers who believed in my work from the very beginning.
Thank you for being part of this journey 🤍
